UGANDA is currently preparing to receive Bitcoin officially and has official rules, probably the first country to receive Bitcoin officially.
Unlike other African countries that tend to wait, Uganda is more proactive toward digital money and open discussions to officially accept. In contrast to South Africa has just announced a warning in using Bitcoin.
Not only Bitcoin, another digital currency is also currently being reviewed by the Ugandan government as mentioned by the official report of The United Nations African Institute for the Prevention of Crime and the Treatment of Offenders (UNAFRI).
…Given the plethora of decentralised virtual currencies like Litecoin, Ripple, Etheruem, zerocoin and Bitcoin, the focus on Bitcoin, was because it was a cryptocurrency of choice for conducting a range of transactions in Africa including in Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria (the Igot Bitcoin exchange) and Ghana (the Kitiwa exchange)…
The main point in the study of the use of Bitcoin because it is more widely used in various countries, especially in Africa.
Current discussions in Uganda on issues related to technology, official government policy, pluralism, ethics and legal provisions in the use of this digital currency. Uganda knows the advantages of using digital money and feels the need to make a precaution for possible losses.
The initial discussion in this official report is already very advanced and will be sharpened in the next discussion.
